This file describes the images
This directory contains 9 TIFF images as test images for the 2dx processing and merging.

These images are cryo-EM images of the Glycerol Facilitator Protein F from E.coli (GlpF). 
2D crystals were grown by Thomas Braun.
Images were recorded on film by Thomas Braun and Henning Stahlberg on the JEOL JEM-3000SFF 
in the MPI Frankfurt (Kuehlbrandt), using SpotScanning illumination. 
The images were digitized with a Zeiss scanner. 

The first three images are from non-tilted samples.
Magnification is 70.000x, digitization was done from these films at 7 micrometer/pixel. Cs=1.6mm, HV=300kV.

The next three images are from 30-deg tilted samples.
Magnification is 50.000x, digitization was done from these films at 7 micrometer/pixel. Cs=1.6mm, HV=300kV.

The last three images are from 45-deg tilted samples.
Magnification is 70.000x, digitization was done from these films at 7 micrometer/pixel. Cs=1.6mm, HV=300kV.

The tilt axis for the tilted images should be roughly horizontal.

This server offers images in three sizes: Thumbnail, small preview, and full resolution. Make sure you download the full resolution version of the images, which are between 4096x4096 and 8580x8580 pixels in size.
